Veterinary Radiographer

 

SCVS is a multidisciplinary tertiary referral centre situated on the edge of the New Forest National Park.  We have a busy and varied caseload and aim to provide the best possible care to our patients.

 

Job Summary: The successful applicant will support the diagnostic imaging team comprising three specialist veterinary radiologists, one diagnostic imaging resident in training and an imaging nurse who provide imaging services to the on-site specialists in orthopaedics, neurology, soft tissue surgery, cardiology, dermatology and internal medicine.  The role will be to ensure the provision of high quality diagnostic imaging studies in a safe and efficient manner.

 

Key Roles:

 

•Running of the 64-slice Siemens Somatom CT and 1.5T Hallmarq Petvet MRI scaners to obtain high-quality diagnostic studies in an efficient manner.

•Providing support to the imaging nurse for obtaining radiographs.

•Assisting in the training of nurses and interns in radiographic techniques, radiation protection and in CT and MRI principles.  

 

Working hours are 40 hours per week with no out of hours (on call) duties.

 

Salary: £28,000 - £35,000 depending on experience.  

 

CPD is encouraged and funded

 

Training: Applicants must have successfully completed a HCPC-approved radiography training programme. Prior experience in veterinary radiography is desirable, but not essential.
